20 Going on 30 (or 13 Going on 30)(Part 1)

So as I begin facing a new decade in my life a new milestone and then going to face the 4th decade of my life, but as I did face strong unnecessary challenges well as I struggled with dealing with so much as I struggled with maturity and even self-control, well I had to face so much fear and criticism and on top of that i mishandled dealing with those As I indeed went from one extreme to another. The one extreme to another was from Passive to Aggressive and apparently that has been my experience snapping as I am a nice, silly guy but will snap when I am around especially irritable people who will make me lose my mind. I even faced so many things I have not mentioned as I moved back form LA to Massachusetts which have been my huge brick walls. Los Angeles was the begging of my further adulthood as life as a teenager was older especially made bad decision and had done tons and tons of irresponsible things. And Oh my life and I am sure everyone's life has been filled with that.

How did my 20's even began

Well Like I mentioned being in my 20's was one of the new experiences and no longer being a teenage and being far from being a child and even just my adolescence ending there were some things I really needed to learn. College was the start of understanding responsibility. As my 20s began when I was already in Los Angeles. Man I honestly did had my downfall and even had bits of my up-rise as well to say the least. I struggled with irresponsibility in my 20s where I came 45 minutes late to a test and then didn't have a paper or a pencil I was very lousy with my study routine and really lacked loads and loads of discipline. So in a humble situation I have failed my test. English class unlike my previous one I didn't do well in but I felt like I worked harder in the English Class. Some of the Classes I did OK in but some of the other classes I did not pass or worse I failed. So School was just the first step of what my irresponsibility and well there were times I would be early and other times I would be late and times I would ride my bike and other times I would take the bus. So my grades like I said were horrendous and Exams I hardly do well in and my discipline with studying was off but was relentlessly studying, but without any organization. Planning and preparations was one of the most disappointing things I have faced and even showing up late to do an early exam man I could really kick myself for not having the Zeal and hard work or even pride to get the Good or even decent grades to reach at the peak I really wanted to shoot for. Well to tell you at the start I did technically started college at 19 years old and I was almost ahead of my senior class with having higher credits. I was glad to be the first one out of high school and still able to return to my high school events. Even also I had a great start in College especially after 1 B in one Class or actually 2 B's and An A. Well going to a new college and then even changing majors from Film Production to Theater Arts was a twist and even having the aspiration to being with either and actor or even an athlete as well.  So I did even lacked a plan when I joined the wrestling team and yeah I lost weight and even Won a match and has improved in My wrestling and my strength but Except for one Class I was horrendous and man I realized being a student athlete even in a junior college was definitely no picnic. I did enjoy working on the play which was a project for my theater class. Growing up was alot of what I needed and Well I still had some great experience going to loads of LA Live events and even going to great plays like The Animal Within and a year later Anything Goes and even 88. Even going to The Staples Center, and on top of that going to Summer slam Axxess and then eventually the Wrestling Pay Per View.

How did life in my 20's continue as I moved back to Boston?

So one thing I was missing to being up in my last Paragraph which I will being here well the Last Semester of My school in West LA. Well I came with a lot of motivation and preparation feeling like I am going to take the world by storm. Well I did came off a lot of inspiration like I did in Wrestling and also many other semester classes and well it came off of NFL Coach Jim Harbaugh and as he became The New Coach For The San Francisco 49ers being the successor of Mike Singletary who was fired after a 2010 6-10 season especially with previous seasons that came with promise. I was hyped up to turn things around Like Jim Harbaugh did turning the Niners from Underachieving 6-10 team to a 13-3 powerhouse. and get the best grades possible but unfortunately the lack of plan that I had and preparation really caught up with me. English class was OK But I had a great grade in a group project but the leader of the project was really spurring me on and had to give me a real kick in the butt and this kinda showed where my lack of organization and motivation was really at. Math Class was dreadful where I had a big NCTP (No Chance to Pass). Then Environmental Science and History Man just forget I failed both those classes and then well I actually did not take a Theater class which was kinda disappointing. The reason I explained this was because When I moved back to Boston and tried to enroll in school well I had to get an earful from my brother and all the frustrations was practically there. So he even saw me and practically was my mental mirror and even my emotional mirror and to see how everything went down at the beginning of enrollment well I had to see where my heart was but unfortunately I was going through the motions. Going back to Boston especially where I mostly see the people I went to High School with have careers and even started their professional life. Apparently I am wowed but how much things have changed especially how everyone's lives were on the next step. Yeah My brother told me how we have to move forward but the Question is and from What our older brother told us, "Are you confident to take those challenges?" Well the question sat with me and wanted to take that next step but unfortunately I was always in the mode of going to school and wanted to fit in and be part of the masses. Like My brother said, "You Can't just plug yourself into the masses." It actually seems true specially how I tend to make poor decisions and even make rash decisions especially enrolling in School. One thing My Brother Taught me was the fact that College Is a Business it is about making money whether you failed or pass they are getting money from you. This was where bad planning really came into Play.

How did Moving to a 2nd Apartment really affected me?

Well As I was trying to figure out how to pay for my tuition for Roxbury College. I found out I was moving and so I had to jump ship to a whole Different School which was Massasoit as I was forced to take a semester off because of my non payment for my tuition, and had to do an intern study with the Dean. So I went with some strange intentions and on top of that I did want to continue my major but just continue to go to school because I felt I had to go to school. With the urge to try to finish school and graduate I blindly knew all my circumstances where the latest bus to run in my area is 5:30 PM, and on top of that I wish I went to Massasoit a ton sooner and on top of that there was things I should have agreed with my brother and just completely follow the path that could get me in a good position. Well I enrolled in Massasoit but everything came in horrendous timing, much like how I got the job in horrendous timing. The Reason why all these things came in horrendous timing was because I had a lot of blind ambition where I came from was I was previously Lazy and wanted to make things happen but it came with refusing to eat the humble pie, in fact it was because I didn't sit down with my fam and come up with a plan. Instead I try to stay on my own agenda and every time I do that bad things happen.  Well that what happened when I finally got a job and as I was already getting assisted income I end up losing the assisted income and my mom was very upset about it. So i had to quit the job after working 1 day and I really did enjoy the job I really did wish I had the job opportunity when I first moved to Boston and everything would have been a different story. And Oh FYI I was supposed to pay my mom money for my assisted income $50, and I tried to underpay $45 or $40 and even nearly underpay for food-stamps but food stamps I was good at helping her with that. Eventually a lot of things have caught up with me but you can take it like the bad guy being defeated or you can understand where you mess up and try to change things and fix things to put yourself in a better position so there were alot of growing I had to do as this Is Part 1 and It will be a To Be Continued...........

The Most Shocking Experience: Been 15 years since it happened!

Introduction

So it has been over 15 years since it has happened July 31,2005 around 6 PM and I was down on the Ground on the streets I had no idea what happened, took me a bit to realized what happened where I end up remembering being hit by car and falling down especially being hit by an SUV or Truck almost similar. It was one of the most unexpected things to happen especially as the day seems very normal a day like any other. Especially I remember that Very Sunday a day like any other like I said especially As School was around the corner and we did get our shopping for our clothes the week beforehand. So now the next thing we need was school supplies and My Mom has been planning it. On the day my mom planned for me and my brother to go shopping, She did say "Don't go out! We are going shopping!" Well Unfortunately I was not compliant to what was said and on top of that the guy from The Church I was going to said we are going to have a Youth Meeting at our church and that got me very distracted and I got a stab saying oh we have to be back in time for us to go shopping and that was where things began to go down hill. So I end up running down the sidewalk and as we are a walk distance away from Church from where we live and on top of that my brother and I would go to Church without my mom. So in an unusual moment I end up sprinting to church while my brother was walking in a very civil slow pace fashion. What has got me into running? Well I really don't know other than I was running over the summer and been losing weight and began feeling in betting shape. So That what got me into running and even feeling like the Movie White Chicks When Shawn Wayans' Character end up running after The guy who took his purse. Wow that was insane with the song that was in addition of the scene which was P!nk's song Trouble. So as I reached the end of the street and then an SUV was approaching I was hesitant to Run and I paused and as I ran across the street It happened and then BOOM! I fell to the Ground I was knocked out and then a song was playing in my mind while I was unconscious called "Pressure Point" By The Zutons and then I woke up as everybody including my brother surrounded me and I was resting on my own hat until the ambulance came and then I was like "Is this a dream or is this real?" And the Ambulance replied "This is Real." So I was lifted on a stretcher and even eventually being on a helicopter all the way to the Miami Children's hospital and I could hardly talk and even had a punctured Lung, and before I was on a stretcher I had numb legs and eventually I found out I had a banged up hip and even torn ACL so I had to get surgery and even lost blood and got donated blood. Also I had to do rehab it was hard but I realize eventually I have to keep pushing I never knew physical therapy was the process of healing. So I eventually went back home after being in the hospital for 2 weeks and lucky enough I was able to return home.

How was things been since return home from the hospital?

Well Getting Hit By a car was one of the most biggest life twist that I had to face and the fact that it has restrained me from doing any physical activity and on top of that even getting myself to return to school. For me to finally return home and to begin the resting process it was anything but eccentric getting help is something I had to get using even though I have overwhelmed my fellow family members who were helping me but stuff did get done. At first I was overly dependent and had to ask people to do things for me and help me do things even when it drives them crazy but there was a point where I struggle with being assertive because I used to be a Meek person and kinda easygoing and struggle with asking for things in an assertive fashion instead of going in either passive mode or aggressive mode. I had to keep asking family to get the food for me but eventually when I was able to stand at least on my left ankle. Because of that I eventually became a little bit more independent learning how to have some sort of strength and perseverance getting my own food and even my own cereal even going up the stairs I have not went upstairs on in ages and this was my first time and I finally got my leg layers. It finally felt good to have some assertion where I would at least learn how to move and began doing things a bit more independently. Not only using my left hip for awhile and then eventually being able to use it it took a load of Patience and assertiveness as well.

How was the healing process?

The healing process started really after the surgery and before the surgery I was doing Physical therapy and I really felt like I was whining OW! while using the walker and trying to move to the wheelchair well I got to the wheelchair but moving was very hard and I never realize I would be in pain because it has been days since I was on my feet as the last time I was on my feet was the day the car accident happened. So using the walker was just the taste of what it means to be in motion. So after a couple weeks of being in the hospital in recovery of my punctured lung and also my loss of blood. I am extremely happy to regain donated blood and even have a recovered lung also I was seeing double vision as I had temporary damaged side that caused my vision to be doubled and even a crossed eye so it was a bit bizarre especially when I finally saw myself in a mirror after not seeing myself especially when I was in the hospital. The first few days of being in the hospital was hard but as the days went on I begin speaking more and feeling a bit more energy and did hear how upset my mom was going to church instead of staying home and waiting to be picked up to go shopping. Well It is what it is and this was one of the things where I was kind of guilty about but at the same time kind of proud to experience a big challenge like that and survive. On top of that returning home was another big thing not being able to see the home I live in especially in a very unexpected fashion as the last time I was there was the day of the accident of course and then return home was another tough because I couldn't stand on any of legs during the healing process and on top of that I had to learn how to move through the wheelchair at first it was hard but then eventually I had to learn how to be more independent cause like I mentioned I could not be overly dependent on people doing stuff for me so before when I felt like I had a major amount of drained energy due to my laziness and even the recovery but eventually I had to take initiative and then do stuff on my own, so with previous days as my family helped me get on the toilet and even get my food for me. So I have been going to the Doctor and having various in and out evaluation and after checking that I have a healed bottom ankle and able to stand on it I was really glad and then Eventually I began using that to stand on and get my own Breakfast and sometimes use the bathroom and Get my own water and it felt awesome to use motion.

What was the next step after being in the wheelchair?

So After being able to develop some mobility and even getting my knee a little bit more healed. I took the first step which indeed is using the Walker I was a bit nervous using the Walker, as I indeed did struggle with using the crutches and man looking back I felt very weak but eventually The Walker really helped it seemed like it was a first step to me getting back into walking as whenever I put my full foot down on my right knee, I would feel pain so I put 50% of weight on my leg which was requested. So after a number of weeks and months of using the Walker I eventually began to use the Crutches and had to do basic exercises where I had to move my leg and even Strengthen My foot. I did those but didn't put much intensity in working on my knee but after seeing the doctor and see how much carb tissue I had that was preventing the knee from bending he had to bend it all the way and man it was super painful and wow I was screaming and even breathing as well. Man I really did need physical therapy and so eventually I began taking physical therapy and man I was nervous but I realize I really needed the physical therapy or else I have to do another operation. Putting that into mind I really needed to take this seriously so indeed I did and it has been paying off seeing I have been improving and even hearing it from the Physical Therapist has really surprised me cause I am always used to not putting in the effort and really hearing disappointing comments, but at this moment this was not the case. So Luckily I was able to at least play basketball and eventually don't have to wear a brace  and even don't have to do home school via phone also be able to return to school which was surprisingly an exciting moment for me. I had to continue taking Physical Therapy and I can finally walk again but had to use the elevator and even had to leave Class early. So I did play basketball and shot hoops but eventually I was able to run again and go full ledge in athletic activities but my knee was not right so I had to continue doing physical rehab.

How did it felt when your knee Fully Recovered and how was the journey?

Well I did wanted to return playing sports. When I returned to school peers were asking me "Are you doing Track and Field This Year?" Unfortunately the Question was I can't I am doing Physical Therapy. And Indeed I have been doing Physical Therapy and on top of that I even felt like I needed to walk more and even overcome my confidence of crossing the street especially crossing the street. So the fact that I was hit by a car which was one of the biggest impact but remembering the fact that how I had to undergo a surgery and even be in the hospital for 2 weeks. There are actually times I had to make sure I am with my brother realizing the mistake I made being hit by car and kind of being reckless. So heading to High School I still had to do physical therapy but unfortunately had to discontinue going to Physical Therapy where I was usually going due to how too far I was. Unfortunately I did not take the initiative to look for a new place for Physical Therapy. But I continued to do exercises at home and even though I was inconsistent. I did play basketball and other physical activities but wasn't very great and still had really bad use of my knee and even my left hip. Football Training heading into High School was one of the toughest and as I was told I had to wait 1 full year and while doing that I needed to continue to take rehab before I returned to doing athletics.  Unfortunately it took me longer than expected and By the end of Sophomore year My knee has gotten better as I was doing my football workouts and finally was able to bend my knee all the way could have had a stronger hip but nonetheless was really glad to finally return to athletics. Even return to football and many other athletic activities even though I have done in the past but wasn't organized in the School but nevertheless it was still a competitive sport. Like I did at my camp and even at my church a few organized sports outside of school.  So when I finally got back into playing sports after 3 years of recovery and even doing rehab and finally getting my knee bending to the full it was awesome and I have to say the paper route kinda did help especially with input from my brother.

Conclusion

Well I am really glad to recover from this tragic car accident well more tragic for me because I went through the car accident. To have this story to tell years later after the car accident with physical scars. So the fact I recovered and returning to physical activity and even being overweight and out of shape it was really hard. Putting my mind into it and doing the workouts as given for football and even doing the paper route was quite a help especially after battling doubt and laziness. I am glad and even beginning to have no regrets of having the car accident especially just being able to share the experience of how I recovered.
